Thanks for taking the time to get to know
a little bit about me. My name is Jennifer Orr.
I have been teaching for over 20 years, the majority of which I have spent in kindergarten, early primary and special education. I LOVE teaching and consider teaching to be the art of
assisting discovery.
I
have always been fascinated with understanding how students learn, and how to
best meet the needs of a diverse classroom of students, each of whom is a
unique learner. My greatest challenge
and greatest reward has been to really get to know my students and to do my best
to set each of them on a course of discovery.
On a personal note, I have been married for 20 years and my husband and I have two beautiful daughters. We love to travel, cook, eat, dance, sing, build, craft, walk our dog, swim, watch movies, and play games together. We often do many of these activities simultaneously which seems to multiply our experience of fun and joy :) .
I have been
blessed to work with some amazing people who have taught me about the art of
providing optimal conditions for student learning and to embrace spontaneous learning
opportunities.
